I agree with Ken's statement that this issue should be discussed, and I have
been willing to put situation out there for people to debate.
But I would caution Ken to remember that the personal choice my wife and I
intended to make was to send our children to Minneapolis Public Schools. We
did not get into the Minneapolis schools where we applied and the school we
finally got into was in the middle of significant transition. When it didn't
work, and we couldn't get into the schools we wanted, we took the best
choice we could get.
He's right: Ramsey, the school where his kids are going, is a great school.
In fact, that was one of the schools we applied to but didn't get in. I'm
happy he got his kids in and wish I could too.
