I have no firsthand experience with the MPS, but I do
have this note. When I moved into Minneapolis, the
long timers in the neighborhood laughed and told me
that they expected me to last five years. I was
shocked as I was full of new homeowner pride. They
said they had seen a steady parade of newly marrieds
who buy their first house, have their first kid and
then move to the burbs when that first child is about
to enter the schools.

Your argument is not with Mr. Atherton, it is with a
whole bunch of people who now live elsewhere and have
the perception that the suburban schools are better.

Rich Chandler - Ward 9

I believe that my analysis of the state of the public
schools is correct. If no one provides me any valid
evidence to the contrary, why should my views change?
