Let's have some context here.  The City took out hundred and
hundreds and hundreds of homes along Hiawatha decades ago.
They dug a hole and built a good for nothing bridge over
46th and then tore it down.  You cannot just isolate this
one stretch of Hiawatha and say that everybody has done
their good part in deciding what was best. Of course people
stood up for their homes, nobody did that before - the
images of their friends and neighbors being moved out to the
suburbs is still with many of them.  This entire project has
been a fiasco for several decades now and the primary
responsibility goes to those who have been in day to day
control of our government.  They didn't have respect for
people and now they don't have respect for our natural
resources.  It's all about "doing the project."

It is time to stop the madness, get out of the court system,
and sit down like adults to resolve this situation. Take a
breath and live up to the promise that we protect people and
the earth we live upon.  There is a harmonious solution if
we just take time to look for it.
