Juneteenth Rocked! School Board Candidate Freeman Wicklund was at the park circulating among the crowd and making appearances at the Green Party booth. Myself and Jonathan Moore distributed Freeman for School Board literature along the parade route and marched with the Natalie Johnson Lee campaign when we ran out of literature. Freeman was at the park for nearly 8 hours, from what I understand, and was very pleased with the feedback and opinions on the schools which were shared with him. I left shortly after the parade to attend the State Green Party meeting in St. Paul. On the Parade Sharon Sayles Belton was at the beginning of the parade and made a splash. RT Rybak was near the middle of the parade. His stickers were on just about every kid I saw(too bad for RT kids can't vote-the stickers were a huge hit with the under 10 crowd). Lisa McDonald's contingent was closer to the end of the parade right behind Natalie Lee Johnson. Lisa's stickers were also a hit with kids. I don't know if her marchers ran out of stickers but I did'nt see as many of hers as RT's. I ran into Sheldon Mains passing out literature hustling up and down both sides of the street along the fast moving parade. Steinglein's signs on the van with no windows at the rear of the parade seemed kind of creepy in an X-files kind of way. At the Park- at the park I saw Natalie Johnson Lee-Ward 5, Shane Price-Ward 3, Jonathan Palmer-Ward 6, Dean Zimmerman-Ward 6, Annie Young-At Large Park Board, Sheldon Mains-Library Board, Freeman Wicklund-School Board, and Sharon, Lisa, & RT. I obviously missed Jackie Cherry Homes though I wasn't at the park long and did not walk the full circle of booths. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
