Forwarded from Jim Grathwol, of the Minneapolis school district:

Dear Friends:

I am happy to report that Sperintendent Carol Johnson has just announced
her intention to stay with Minneapolis Public Schools. The Board of
Education met with the Superintendent this morning and she informed them
of her decision to stay. The Board informed the Superintendent of the
willingness to meet the Nashville school district's salary offer of
$190,000 and asked to extend the Superintendents contract one additional
year through the 2004 school year. Superintendent Johnson has not
responded to the board's offer of a salary increase or additional
contract year at this time.

Jim Grathwol
