Minneapolis City candidates unite this Sunday (9/23) calling for tolerance and
respect. They welcome all who support their cause to join them.

Following a brief demomstration at Peavey Plaza on the Nicollet Mall
participants are invited to visit local mosques to show their support and
concern.

Three new people signed on today. We now have 21 candidates and elected
officials joining our show of unity. We apologize if we missed any campaigns
and any candidates so far and hope that each of you will continue to help spread
the word.

============================================

"We invite you to join us this Sunday, September 23 at 12:30 p.m. in Peavey
Plaza on the Nicollet Mall to demonstrate a united commitment to tolerance and
respect in this time of sorrow and turmoil.

The recent terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington DC have evoked a
great deal of anger as well as an anti-Muslim, anti-Arab, anti-Middle Eastern
and even anti-gay backlash. We have all suffered in the past ten days and we
have all been equally horrified by these attacks. We must not use this as a
reason to lash out at one another. Let us use it as a chance to honor our
diversity, learn from each other and come together as a community.

Let us be united in our call for people throughout our city to reject racism,
hatred and bigotry and embrace respect for diversity and tolerance in this time
of great tragedy.

Following a brief demonstration, those who wish may join together and visit a
mosque to bring our support and concerns to the Muslim communities and places of
worship in our city.

We welcome all who support our effort to join us Sunday and invite all
candidates and elected officials to show your support by signing on to this
letter. To do so, or for more information, please contact Patrick Peterson or
Cam Gordon."

Sincerely,

Patrick Peterson
