Your implication that David Lillehaug is accusing the mayor of a false endorsement because of her race is completely uncalled for. David clearly stated in his second post that he CALLED the Wellstone office personally and was told that Wellstone has not endorsed her. You and Carol can call it a grammatical error, but the fact remains, saying nice things about someone is NOT an endorsement in the true political sense. Wellstone has done no campaigning for the mayor and has not appeared in any public shows of support. It's his style to lay low in races with multiple Democrats until the party endorses or the field is limited to one, and that's exactly what he's doing this year. It's interesting that the quotes from Wellstone have NO date as to when they were issued. He could have said them about her at any time during her administration. Second, we don't know the circumstances in which they were issued. Perhaps he introduced her at an event and they were part of his speech. Much confusion, all of which is due to the questionable placement of the quote, and none of which is due to the mayor's race.

David was merely relaying his take on the situation, the same as you are. To accuse him of doing so because she's the "only candidate of color" is a last-ditch cheap shot, one which is completely unmerited. Can't ANYONE on this list have a negative opinion about the mayor without being accused of racism?
