I would be interested in knowing that information as well. I was also a
founding member of the Coalition for Free Speech, and one of Matt's closest
friends. I was also one of the folks who brought charges against Matt
Brauer. This all happened last year(spring to summer 2000), just to date the
article, and to this date Matt has not re-paid the Coalition for Free
Speech, nor has he made an attempt to do so. If these are the kind of people
that RT has working for him, I question his judgement. And I encourage him
to keep a quick eye to his accounts. Matt betrayed his friends, his work as
a member of the Coalition, and he undermined our amazing work which was
recognized by the grant from the Headwaters Fund. I was also the co-chair
of the Queer Student Coalition the year before Matt (QSCC was the fiscal
agent for the Coalition for Free Speech, which was how Matt accessed the
money), and Matt also betrayed the trust put in him by the progressive,
questioning, and queer students at the U of MN.

> Matthew Brauer, former member of the University Senate and several student
> organizations, was charged last Wednesday with felony theft after
> fraudulently withdrawing $2,608 from an account belonging to the now
defunct
> Coalition for Free Speech.
>
> Records at the University of Minnesota Federal Credit Union indicate
Brauer
> signed for 13 transactions between June 22 and Dec. 30, according to the

>
> Brauer, who is no longer enrolled at the University, could not be reached
for

> The coalition failed to re-register with the Campus Involvement Center
this

> Coalition co-charterer Jason Ruiz said he left the organization prior to
