While I fully understand our list manager's desire to keep the Minneapolis
Forum's issues just on Minneapolis and not on the terror in New York, I
think he is missing the point.
I would say, "with all due respect" except that it always sounds to me like
what is actually meant is, "with absolutely no respect." As a result, I'll
keep it just at "missing the point."
The point is that the terror in New York HAS BECOME a Minneapolis issue.
It's become a local issue about everywhere else in the United States too.
That's why you see people putting flags out and prayer services being held
and being well attended. People in Minneapolis are scared. People in
Minneapolis want to do something. That makes it a Minneapolis issue.
So I think you may try to ask that people try to post about what the
response in Minneapolis should be, but asking people not to post about it is
going to be ignored. It's what is on people's minds now.
