For those who may be interested, the public hearing is still on for the development of the peninsula at Twin Lake, adjacent to the 'back 40' of Wirth Park. The hearing is scheduled for 8-pm this Wednesday at the Golden Valley City Hall. As I understand it, the vote could go either way. Thus far the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, the Sierra Club, the Golden Valley Planning Commission, and an ad-hoc group called Citizen's for Twin Lake Preservation, have publicly come out against the development plan. Many thanks to these groups and to the many individuals that support keeping Twin Lake natural. However, the forces in favor of development appear to be quite strong out in Golden Valley, and the outcome is by no means certain one way or the other. Barring bad weather, the gathering at Twin Lake tomorrow is also still planned. http://www.minnesotacriticalmass.org/TwinLake.htm Dave Stack Harrison _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
