All right, already, so we'll sponsor one. I'll figure out the details this
week and get back to you Greg and Barret.

BUT... A couple of weeks ago I asked for advice from listmembers about how
many forums are too many. They can be a good way for people to hear from
candidates, but when there are 20 people in the audience and 12 of them are
connected to the sponsoring organization or the candidates, it ends up being
a lot of work for not much payoff.

As the person who DOES this work (with our reporters), I respectfully ask
other organizations that would like to host candidate forums in the 13th
Ward: Please, let's pool our resources and do one good, well-attended one
rather than eight sparsely attended events.

Same is true for other wards we might do forums in, or for any of the
boards. Right now there is a School Board forum in the works, with Community
Ed and the League of Women Voters, and we're kind of committed to a mayoral
debate Oct. 15, again with the LWV and maybe another sponsor.
