Also, NRP adopts stricter conflict-of-interest rules. "The policy also
prohibits insiders from taking advantage of advance knowledge. It
applies to board members, officers, committee chairpersons, employees
and contractors of neighborhood associations, and it applies to their
relatives and others in their households. ... The rules require
disclosure of actual or potential conflicts and prohibit gifts from
anyone in connection with business before the Policy Board or
neighborhood associations. Those covered by the rules may participate in
Neighborhood Revitalization programs, such as loans, if they follow
steps under which the organization formally waives the conflict."
