Let's end this junk RIGHT NOW.
#1. According to rule #3: "3. No forwarding private messages to the list
without permission of the author." Therefore, what Eva did was wrong and
she will be warned. As she has not received a formal warning from me
yet, she may continue to be a list member.
#2. While I have not - and do not want to -- police private email, this
list demands respectful discussion. That's been going to hell lately,
but as list manager, I am going to get it back on track, I promise. If
someone is sending highly offensive email - and I don't mean
garden-variety disagreement - offlist, with offensive terms such as
"buggerboy" or similar blatant, inflammatory insults, it will be
considered spam (removal criteria #7) and the member will be
automatically expelled. This is everyone's notice.
We are a place for serious discussion of issues such as racism. However,
as stated repeatedly, such a serious charge must be explained and not
merely thrown out. More importantly, racism must not be used as thin
cover to insult people.
This list will not collapse over the recent spate of ugliness. I will
see to that. I hope list members who value the forum and play be the
rules will be patient as I deal with this.
