Neighborhood Leadership Breakfast Series 2001

The Center for Neighborhoods and the League of Women Voters of Minneapolis

Welcome Dr. Carol Johnson as our presenter

On Wednesday, October 10, 2001 at 8:00 – 9:30 a.m.

At Gallery 8, in the Walker Art Center, speaking on:

Educational Leadership: Helping teachers succeed

DR. CAROL JOHNSON, Superintendent of the Minneapolis Public Schools, wouldn’t call herself a change agent. Grounded in her understanding of what teachers identify with, Dr. Johnson is better described as a coalition builder, leading with a keen awareness of what it takes to teach in an urban environment. Her passion for education is clear; and her caring and compassion for children runs deep. "Educational leadership is characterized by listening to staff, students and parents and composing a vision for the future founded on the voices of the present. Some of our most vital leadership development work in the district involves the classroom teacher."

Join us for a dialogue with this remarkable leader!

Seating is limited to the first 60 people, so please arrive early.
