well, Mr. Abbott, I appreciate your responding to the concerns that I raised.. which is more than some candidates have done, in previous posts.
I'm not sure in what spirit you intended them other than to try to explain why you accused the developers of lying - quite a serious charge. Unless you accuse Ms. Kugler of constructing out of whole cloth the agreement that she shared with the list, my "not trained-as-a-lawyer-but-nevertheless-someone-who-has-her-fair-share-of-common- sense" reaction is that it looks, smells and quacks like an agreement (ok, a mixed metaphor, but you catch my drift). I'm not sure why on earth you would expect the developers to have a signed lease at this stage of the game... I certainly don't . Your cautions regarding the termination clause are worth considering, but what contract doesn't have em? And why would the clinic terminate a revenue stream that comes to them, no skin off their teeth? I would be far more interested in knowing just who these people are that accused the developers of lying - that told you after the September 13 meeting that they probably did not have an agreement. This whole process has been marked by an out of the ordinary level of misinformation and personal vitriol, and I for one would like to get to the source of it. we can, unfortunately, agree on one point. Your handling of this issue is not likely to enhance your chances of election. I don't mean that to be nasty - it isn't easy to run for public office, and I admire those who have the fortitude, and enought interest in the community, to try. But I expect my elected officials to take a different tack when confronted with knotty community problems - and have the good judgement not to get sucked into disrespectful personal attacks. You certainly could have raised exactly the same issues without the "j'accuse!" tone.. so live and learn... respectfully, susan herridge lynnhurst _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
