[Mpls] Minneapolis City Council and Phosphorus

Kudos to the Minneapolis City Council for passing an ordinance on Friday limiting the sale and use of phosphorus in lawn fertilizers. This is an important step in efforts to prevent pollution of city lakes that are choking under elevated phosphorus levels. A working group, including several state agencies has been established to look at ways to address the topic during the upcoming legislative session. Its good to see Minneapolis joining a few of our suburban neighbors in addressing this important environmental concern.   Frank Hornstein Ward 13 Metropolitan Council Member, District 6
