Also, toward the end of Mr. Lohman's post, he makes, I believe, a reference to the units demolished as part of the Hollman consent decree. Those were not "supportive housing" units--they were simply affordable for low-income residents. I hope the antipathy toward "supportive housing" does not equate to antipathy toward affordable housing, though that has often been the case.
Gregory makes a good point. My reference to demolished Hollman housing was not clear. Hollman is about affordable housing. Lydia House is about supportive housing. The point I was trying to make is that a hyperconcentration of either type of housing will have a detrimental effect on the surrounding neighborhood.
And let me make myself completely clear by saying that it is not the presence of supportive housing that is the issue for me, it is the concentration of it.
