Actually, the silliest thing is that the Strib edit writers - who consistently loathe the party endorsing process - hypocritically applaud Dean K.'s "grit" in getting a 7th-ballot endorsement. In any other race, the Strib edit page would lambast such a tortured intra-party verdict as empty. These endorsements are truly among the least well-argued I've seen. They don't even evaluate Dean Z.'s two Park Board terma on any substantive basis. Also, re: my previous note about the RT-Lisa stuff in the pre-primary MPR debate -- I am not saying Lisa evaded the stadium question - I truly believe she did not hear the question. However, the key point is whether RT should have realized that in the heat of a debate - I don't think so. In the flow of the debate, Lisa had spoken up when she hadn't heard something, but indicated something different in not responding to the stadium query. I think RT could have reasonably assumed she was evading - a point even those of us on the list had to debate for several days AFTER the fact. I think there's enough uncertainty that his pressing her does not support a serious charge that he was discriminatory or prejudiced - especially since there are no other examples of him belittling her hearing.
