[RF] A few presidential elections past, one of the
California-based media-and-the-public groups hosted a focus
group. The headline out of that focus group was that
participants were desperate for real political news. They were
willing to spend extra time and money to pass up the fluff from
the daily papers in order to find the information they needed to
make educated decisions.

It may be less that the Star Tribune has power than it is those
new subscribers to the list are desperate for information that
will let them participate as informed citizens in the election
and afterwards.
