As a newcomer to your town, I can only say "thank you" to Maura Brown for
that condensed account. It was understandable and seemed plausible. I now
have the sort of overview that enables further thought.
As to "many more twists and turns", there always are--layers of them.
Anyhow, thanks. It's beginning to come into focus.
Seems like any big project wades through absurdities (tearing down houses
when they're already in short supply) to get to a desirable end. "You gotta
break eggs..." Trouble is, we don't know the end until it's the end, so
mistrust is rife all along the way. What a hassle.
Tell ya one thing, though: I've seen the prices on some of these so-called
"affordable" units and have been left gasping. Me and my friend make about
$65k between us and it's no walk in the park...
I just look at all this old stock and wonder if what's replacing it will
have anything like a similar lifespan.
Just a ramble from a recently relocated rural New Yorker...
