Good morning all! Hope you enjoyed the extra hour of sleep.
Here's a link to an interesting story in today's StarTribune:

http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/787673.html

The headline reads:

Holding others' feet to fire, group gets burned

and the subhead is:

Oops: Accountability group's form overdue

In the story, we read that our own Joe Barisonzi, treasurer for the
group A City for Neighbors, didn't file a required disclosure report
that was due in September. But don't get mad at Joe.... the story
quotes him thusly: "I haven't gotten it in because I'm overwhelmed
at work and I haven't dropped it off."

Sounds good... but then I happened to notice that despite his busy
schedule, Joe found time to post nine messages to Mpls-issues in
September and nine more in October, including one attacking me
personally. And let's not forget his dedicated service just two weeks
ago, handing out misleading flyers in front of Target, or his selfless
work on RT's campaign as described by him on this forum this week.
Maybe if Joe spent less time attacking others and more time filling
out reports required by law, we wouldn't have seen this story. Or
maybe A City for Neighbors didn't want people to see that they
were apparently selling high ratings to Council Members in return
for large contributions.

But wait! I forgot! It's OK when RT's supporters do stuff like that!
They're the pure reformers who are going to change those terrible
things down at City Hall, so it's all justified in the name of the
greater
good. Come on. You can bet that if some SSB supporters did any
of this stuff, people like Joe would be all over them.

My point here is that they have a double standard when it comes
to "reform."
