Doug Mann writes: "There is one candidate for school board this year who is
offering
explanations: Evelyn Eubanks. I am biased (I am not a Star-Tribune
reporter). I am also treasurer of the Eubanks for School Board Committee."
IF Doug was the candidate, his entire posting would have relevance. He
isn't and Evelen has had little to say in re analysis, positions or proposed
solutions to the many and complex issues faced by the Minneapolis School
Board. Evelyn has been a no-show at most public SB candidate forums, refused
interviews for the Strib profiles and chose not to even meet with the Strib
editorial board re whatever their endorsements are.
And please--don't refer readers to YOUR personal website full of views
"that Evelyn shares" and suggest that the candidate is speaking. Evelyn and
I agree on many criticisms of the current Board and administration, but
audiences at those few appearances she has made will tell you that Evelyn is
long on accusation & rage and totally lacking on constructive proposals.
She is a bright & articulate woman and if her anger can someday be converted
to constructive thinking and problem-solving, she will be a formidable
political presence.
Doug Mann's posting makes her look like Charley McCarthey to his Edgar
Bergan. Back to real SB discussion in my own, original, next posting.
