oug:
In your initial posting re school board issues, you identified yourself
as a campaign official with the Eubanks for School Board Committee and
referred readers to your website, saying it contained positions that Evelyn
agreed with. Hence my earlier responsive question, So Wheres Evelyn?
Your 10/31 response was I am not a spokesperson for Evelyn Eubanks. . . .
And even if it were true that Evelyn has had little to say about in re
analysis, positions, or proposed solutions to the many and complex issues
faced by the Minneapolis Public Schools, so what? Well, the WHAT is that
readers have a right to expect that a message purporting to represent the
views of the candidate actually BE from the candidate or at least that the
source be properly and consistently identified as speaking for or not
speaking for her. Fair enough?
I know that Evelyn and I agree on shifting the focus from blaming kids
and parents and teachers to holding the District more accountable for its
failure to institute the programs and supports that would improve learning.
You are right to ask SB candidates to speak to these and other problems.
I submitted one lengthy piece to the Forum in which I began to lay out my
analysis and proposals. Another will follow soon. I suspect we agree on
more things than not.
