I agree with David that the portion of the article discussing the Downtown Council 
conflict-of-interest had to be attributed, and RT deserves to respond.

But, reading both the Strib and the CP pieces, the impression you get (and I'm saying 
this is the first thing that came to mind when comparing the two) is that RT did make 
a suggestion to create a job then suggested he fill it, then disclosed that 
information to the Strib, who suspended him.  That's the primary interpretation I can 
take away from a story where you are suspended for properly disclosing a 
conflict-of-interest.  Otherwise does a suspension make sense?  One can imply, from 
both stories, that something went on beyond a mere disclosure.

Presumably, the Star Tribune editors at the time had more information because RT 
discussed the conflict with them--which points again to the question of attribution:  
where are they getting their information?

My disclosure: not really liking the choices, which comes down to a matter of lack of 
trust with Rybak, a matter of lack of strong leadership with Sayles Belton.
