Now that the election cycle is over, if you had the power to change one thing about the Minneapolis election process, what would it be?
I'd get rid of the party endorsement process. And while I was at it I'd stop all other organizations and news outlets from making endorsements. It seems like endorsements generate more heat than light. (As an example, see SSB's reaction to RT's endorsement from the Police Federation: an accusation based on no information that a deal existed to fire Chief Olson.) And it gives some citizens an easy way to use the opinions of others rather than forming them for themselves.
