When an individual is inattentive to the point of
repeatedly misspelling a personal proper name
that only contains four letters, I can be rather
tolerant, but I don't necessarily expect much
of value in terms of that person's opinions.
However, that was not the case in regard to L.
Hogan's message, Mpls digest, Vol 1 #512,
Message: 6. I found that a part of L's (Larry's?
Lenore's? Lucille's? Leonard's?)* comments
was quite valuable because it became part of
the inspiration for my message, "Real estate
tax increases and unaffordable housing.".

In some situations, tolerance may not be a
good quality. I really don't think that we
should be tolerant of a city government that
is not representing its residents properly,
including whatever L? has in mind. L? should
realize that if the City of Minneapolis is errant
in one significant area of responsibility, it is
apt to be errant in other ways. If we tolerate
what might be considered misfeasance in one
area of responsibility we should probably
expect misfeasance elsewhere. All residents
need to pull together and hold the line on all
mis/malfeasance for the well-being of all of us.
And we should not "spoil" the City of
Minneapolis by personally doing the work that
we have already paid the City to do. To do so
would only encourage more City neglect.
Where we live in Minneapolis should not be a
consideration.

* Should a rather anonymous submission be
allowed to be posted? There really isn't any
compelling basis for knowing where L? resides.
L? could be operating from anywhere on the
planet. I'm inclined to believe that the United
Kingdom is a possibility because of L?'s
spelling (neighbourhood). On the other hand,
L? may reside locally and be an employee of
the City of Minneapolis.
