The fact that Sabri is building what sounds like a
kind of cruddy, garage style retail building isn't
suprising. Most of his buildings that I've seen have
a definite "Menards" aura.

If it's true that he plans on naming it "Sabri
Commons", then he's either oblivious to the fact that
his actions over the past decade have degraded his
name to the point where it is so negative that people
use it to degrade projects; or maybe he's such an
arrogant megalomanaic that he doesn't care. I feel
sorry for the perspective tennants, as I'm sure
they'll be treated the way they are in all of his
other buildings.

Why is construction on the footings starting before
the rest of the plan is approved? Is it a method to
use "sunk investment" to strongarm inspections into
making exceptions? What kind of oversight is there in
the inspections dept for Sabri related projects given
that he is on FBI tapes boasting about paying off
inspectors (and the independent investigation Belton
promised hasn't materialized yet). I would hope that
Sabri doesn't get any more preferential treatment from
inspections or any city depts. The rules are there
for EVERYONE. Has Sabri threatened to sue inspections
yet? He almost certainly will, it's part of his MO.

People were wondering where Sabri got the cash for
this project - check out his public record at the
Hennepin Co building, and you'll see that he almost
never pays his subcontractors; no need for money if
that's what's going on.
