Bike2Work Commuter Cycling Course (How to use your bike to get to work, school and play)
The Bike2Work program is designed to introduce bicycle commuting to the recreational rider -- as well as appeal to the occasional commuter. The course will cover the basics of commuter and utilitarian cycling -- gear, service/road repairs, cold weather biking and effective cycling/route selection. The first class of the series, "ABC's of Bike Commuting," will cover the FAQ's -- with an emphasis on cold weather considerations -- (what kind of bike/accecessories do I need?, what kind of clothing is best?, won't I die out there?). It's scheduled for Thursday Dec.13 from 5:30 to 6:30. All classes are held at the Sibley Bike Depot in downtown St. Paul, and are available on a "first-come" reservation basis. Class size is limited, so please RSVP ASAP via e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or voicemail @ 651-290-0405. Class fee is $5 and open to the public -- bring your family and friends. MN Bicycle & Pedestrian Alliance members are entitled to 4 free classes per year. For BPA membership information please visit www.bikeped.org The Sibley Depot is located in the south side of the Renaissance Box (across the street from the Embassy Suites Hotel). It's on the corner of 10th & Sibley in downtown St. Paul's new North Quad Urban Village. Look for the bike mural from 10th Street -- the Depot entrance is through the big glass garage doors facing downtown. Yes Joe, we've got garages too! _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
