<< Johnson's record on "getting things done" is impressive. Why settle for Ostrow? Is this the emergence of a new voting bloc? David Piehl Central >> Keith says; Barb Johnson has shown me that she is a truly humble civil servant; and effective. When I talked with her about our desperate need for a "critical-mass" of business activity along West Broadway (her ward's south boundary near Wirth Parkway), she listened well and was understanding and supportive. We were on the same page and I felt what an asset she was at City Hall. When I praised the attractive commercial node at the North terminus of Penn Ave. in Camden, one that I envied and coveted for West Broadway, she declined to accept any credit for it's nice look and success. Also, let the record show that she worked well with homeowners and rental property owners to preserve the classic housing stock, and tax base, so abundant in her ward. Quietly and humbly resisting the slash and burn mentality so rampant under Jackie Cherryhomes rule at city hall. When it would have been so "easy" to follow along and do the wrong thing, she did not! Note-This is the main reason I would NEVER want Joe Biernat running this city. I don't know if Paul Ostrow has the backbone and moral compass to lead this city. If he does, would someone please go to his record and show me what quiet heroics and moral courage he has demonstrated while in office. This is an honest and respectful request cause I don't have the info and we are talking about leadership. A little story here. Many times I called Barb's office and she wasn't in. Frequently she would call me back on a Saturday or Sunday. Once when she reached me on a Sunday afternoon she spoke with me for a half hour while she "did the dishes," clink, clunk, rattle and all. I like and commend this woman. You will be able to trust and rely on her. _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
