Just got an email from a friend related to a fundraising scheme for her son's school (Anne Sullivan).
She concludes, "Normally, I wouldn't even participate in this kind of thing, but the fact that it's being sent out to the entire school tells me how bad the school budget crisis has hit. Robin has been at Anne Sullivan for seven years now, and this is the first time anything like this has been done. (The annual plant sale is a PTA fundraiser.)" It was a fairly convoluted fundraising effort, involving postcards and discount magazines. Maybe next they will put slot machines and blackjack tables into classrooms and use them as casinos in evenings and weekends.
