If I am not mistaken, their salaries for the year are approximately $36,000, right? I'm sure it is different for Senate and House, but I don't figure it is that much different. So...if they are earning a salary of $36,000 and per diems of $9k - $10K, then they are making more for a few months a year than the majority of Minnesotans who work all year round. I would be very interested in more investigation of this issue.
