On Monday there is a public forum for next year's budget------DEC. 10 at 5:05 pm in room 132 at City Hall. This meeting is called the truth in taxation meeting because it allows people to ask about provisions in the budget and make comments. I am trying to see where the funding of the neighborhood decision making process which is the essence of NRP will be included in the budget. At the moment I am concerned that it won't be included, especially because the Mayor has removed the provisions that would have continued funding.( They were originally included in the Framework address) NRP has been a very effective tool to improve and organize the Seward neighborhood. I will be there. I hope other people are interested in this important issue. This will be part of a mark-up process---adding and subtracting from the budget (on Tues. and Wed.) The budget as changed is then approved on Thurs. evening at 5:05 in the same place. The HRA tax levy seems to be an essential component to continued NRP funding. Thanks, Scott Vreeland, Seward, Ward 2
Also on my to do list: Stop the Riverside Coal Plant From getting a permit to continue to be most toxic polluter in Minneapolis and establishing Skyline Park (the River View Supper Club ) as the anchor piece of an incredible regional Park system on the upper Mississippi River. _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
