You're kidding, right Vicky? Communism involved the state ownership of all property (and means of production). Land trusts would purchase property from their owners, lease the property to private individuals who share in the profit - and of course, the land trusts themselves are private, not government, entities. As for the Fifth Amendment, I assume Vicky is referencing "nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation." Any evidence property owners won't be paid thusly when the land trust buys? The land trust involves a group of owners, compared to a single landlord. It has a different structure for handling profit, but that's not Communism, that's just different. I find that ideological labeling on a local discussion list usually undercuts and argument, and I think this is an example.
