I agree with Alan on this one. I was especially disappointed to see newly
elected Park Board member Marie Hauser's name on this list. I voted for
Marie because I thought she would be a thoughtful voice on the park board,
not because she was going to spend her time trying to keep the DFL insider
control freak game going.

This whole wrangling over the Council Presidency seems to be bringing out
the worst in the City Council members.

That's what I'd like to see. It also shows why we need to get some
Republicans elected to the City Council.

Did folks hear RT on Almanac yesterday? He was on alongside Randy Kelly in
St Paul. I have to say Kelly sounded much more articulate and full of
concrete ideas than did Rybak, who kept on repeating his agenda was
"housing, housing, housing." From talking with Mark Stenglein at the
Property Rights meeting, I understand that RT is lobbying the County hard
to subsidize a stadium. Now I wonder if RT thinks we are all stupid -- and
don't understand that increased moneys from the county for a stadium
ultimately come out of our pocketbooks.

Zimmerman said a rather odd thing during this meeting. He said the Sept 11
attacks could have done "real damage" if they had gone after the Montecello
or Prairie Island Nuclear plants. I personally thought that a bit much --
those attacks did do quite a bit of real damage and murdered thousands of
people in New York City. I'm sure that people who have friends and loved
ones who were victims of that attack don't question the reality of it.
