Steve Brandt is correct. I forgot that once each year I pay association fees of $600 to cover several expenses including road maintenance.
That would make my total property tax in North Oaks $3,710 compared with $9,023 in Minneapolis. I offer no opinion as to which is better - because I believe in free markets. My only point is that there are "more affordable" housing options outside of Minneapolis. Just to clarify, the houses are very similar: Built in the late 60s, 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 2 car garage, approximately 3,400 sq. ft., and well maintained.
