This is a a big deal for online consultation in Minnesota ... the fact
that the event will be summarized and made available for key
decision-makers and others should be enough incentive to add your ideas in
the final days.

Cheers,

Subject: Last days of Metro Council online forum

Greetings,

The Metropolitan Council's first-ever regional online dialogue on the State
of the Region will wrap up soon. The featured panelists finished their
duties on Dec. 21, but the forum remains open for anyone to participate
through Monday, Dec. 31. (The discussion boards have been very active, with
over 500 messages posted to the three main topics of regional growth,
traffic congestion, and affordable housing.)

When it's all over, we'll create both a transcript and a summary of the
event for Council staff and Council members to review. We'll also make
these available to city, county, and state officials, advocacy groups, and
anyone else concerned about these regional issues.

We'll also email you an invitation in early January, asking you to complete
a brief web-based questionnaire about the panel and forum. Meanwhile,
we've opened up a Feedback topic in the discussion boards for you to
discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the event with me and other
participants. This Feedback topic will remain open through the month of
January.

So I encourage you to join the discussion these last few days. There's
still time to learn, to influence, and to begin forming relationships with
fellow citizens and many public officials who are interested and involved
in these important regional issues.

Look for the State of the Region graphic in the upper right corner of the
Metropolitan Council's home page at http://www.metrocouncil.org or go right
to the forum at http://208.185.149.41. Let me know if you have trouble
logging on.

Sincerely,

   - Griff
