The MTC also got it right for SE Como neighborhood with the new #3 bus. Our neighborhood is what it is because of the former University inter campus bus. When that bus moved to the transitway, we had lost a major "definer"(?) "enabler" (?) of our neighborhood.
I'm sorry the people in Como St. Paul don't like the routes selected for the number 3, but by the time that bus gets west of 280, it is perfection. One of my neighbors has worked for the University Libraries for 40 years, and has spent 30 of those walking from McDonalds in Dinkytown to the WestBank because his work day started before the campus bus service started. For the first time, Don can pick up a bus two blocks from his house, and get off across the street from work, as can the rest of us. This is just great! I hope MTC can try the 101 idea again in a year or two. It was a good idea and I'm just not sure why it didn't work. _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
