How residents can get rid of old TVs or computers in the City of Minneapolis RESELL or DONATE Call a business that buys and sells computers, or sell it yourself. Consider donating your used, working computer or TV. Call local charities to ask if they could use the equipment. Call Computers for Schools at 651-779-2816 or visit their web site at www.cfsrp.state.mn.us to see if your computer meets their criteria RECYCLE Minneapolis residents with city solid waste services may set out computers and TVs for pickup on their recycling day, at the assigned solid waste collection point. Set out up to item(s) by 6 a.m. on recycling day with a note that states, "For Solid Waste." For more information, call Minneapolis Solid Waste & Recycling at 612-673-2917 or visit their web site at www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/solid-waste Hennepin County residents may also drop off household electronics at one of two Hennepin County locations. Visit the county's web site for information: http://www.co.hennepin.mn.us/environmental/household/a-z4.html#E Electronic equipment that is in good condition will be placed on a reuse shelf. Residents are free to take reusable materials from the reuse shelves. Electronics that cannot be reused will be recycled. Finally, some manufacturers offer take-back programs. Contact the manufacturer of your product to see if a take-back program is available. Businesses, institutions and nonprofit agencies should contact an electronics recycler.
