I am the person who wrote the e-mail that was quoted by Council Member Ostrow at the December 27th DFL Central Committee meeting and whose employment Mr. Biele threatened. Just to let you know that I was authorized to speak on behalf of AFSCME on this issue and am still gainfully employed by AFSCME. AFSCME continues to believe that while we had our own preferences for leadership positions in the Minneapolis City Council it was up to the Council to organize in a manner in which they saw fit. We remain committed to working with the elected leadership and would have worked with whoever was elected to a leadership position even it if were not our preferred choice.
