Now, I remember when the fur protesters were hanging out by Macy's that the argument was that the Mall was private property and the suggestion that since Bloomington PD were there that it was a public place was dismissed when it was said that they were hired by the Mall and were there off regular duty hours. Now they are regularly patrolling the Mall. Does this mean that it is finally considered a 'town square'-like place? I know that this is Bloomington and not Minneapolis specifically, but I figured there would be more than enough opinions on this to go around. I hope it's appropriate for the list.
