I think it was Peter Dodge who wanted a police force that could be "kindly and human" when the occasion called for it. According to articles in Pulse, Seward Profile, and the North Country Co-op newsletter, Mr. Dodge was thrown to the ground by police officers a couple days after the Hard Times raid while he was trying to repair a door (he owns the building). Like the majority of Minneapolis residents, Mr. Dodge is not a crackhead or a rapist. I think that it would be better for everyone, even the officers themselves, if police could learn to observe ordinary social conventions (especially those regarding violence) when dealing with most of us. Samantha Pace's article in the Daily last summer says it better than I can: http://www.mndaily.com/story.php?date=20010725&storyID=2426 Rosalind Nelson Bancroft neighborhood _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
