I must chime in to second Barbara's post about Mayor Rybak's involvement on
this list but to also note his attendance and participation in today's City
Council Meeting.
The Mayor could have come down for the Chambers Dedication Ceremony or the
Tribute to Kathleen O'Brien and then left.
Instead, in what has become common behavior, he stayed throughout the
meeting. The Mayor chimed in on the CM Shiff item on affordable housing and
the CM Benson & CM Colvin Roy item about airport noise mitigation - and then
stayed through the rest of the meeting to just listen.
How refreshing.
Mayor Rybak has been very engaged in a positive and proactive effort to work
with the members of the Council as has his staff and I for one appreciate
it.
I thought the rest of you might like to know what he is up to as well.
Have a nice weekend everyone.

Subject: [Mpls] Imagine that!
Just finished reading RT's post re the library controversy
and it struck
me how lucky we are to have a mayor who can write, and for
whom writing
has been a habit --not to mention a profession -- over many
years;
especially after the deafening silence on the list from the
previous
mayor.
We are doubly blessed to have a well-written mayor who has
an ingrained
Mpls-list habit. Methinks we can look forward to heightened
and more
enlightened civic discourse on the list for the next four
years because
of the happy coincidence of these two qualities in our chief
executive.
Hopefully,
