Reference discussion of DFL verses 'Greens' and Ms. Khan's proposed
election bill, The 'Green' victory was more a rejection of DFL
machine than any new 'green' political party. The Green lawn signs
and bumber stickers to be seen in inner city -election past, were more
a protest of traditional do nothing Republicans and machine DFL
than a real new party building up.
There of
course was some 'Green' organization but Neighborhood types with those
signs were working thinking people with little interest nor
participation in 'politics' and every reason to dislike traditional
politics as per the machine. Last summer it became the 'cool' thing
for wedge types to have the green signs.
City politics is supposed to be -by long ago tradition- non partisan
anyway. Any machine scams to still keep the DFL on top are a lost
cause.
