Hello everyone -

As a member of the Waite Park PTA, I know how hard the principal, teachers,
staff, and volunteers at Waite Park Community School work to stretch every
budget dollar to benefit the most students. I also know how many things our
school, teachers and classrooms need that simply aren't covered by the
budget. That's where the PTA comes in.

As education funding continues to be cut, the Waite Park PTA has been busy
looking for new and innovative ways to increase our fundraising earnings so
that we're able to provide the things our school needs.

Recently, we joined a fantastic online fundraising program for schools that
will make our job a lot easier. This program is too good to keep to
ourselves and could benefit other Minneapolis schools, so I'd like to share
it with the list.

The following press release was recently issued by the Waite Park PTA and
briefly explains the program.

Waite Park PTA Plugs Into Online Fundraising with SchoolCash.com!
Program makes supporting education easy for parents, safe for kids.

Minneapolis, MN - 01/20/02 - The Waite Park PTA announces their
partnership with SchoolCash (www.schoolcash.com), one of the nation's
leading e-fundraising networks, with thousands of participating schools and
local parent organizations.

Online fundraising programs like SchoolCash offer schools, PTAs and
school-related organizations' an alternative to traditional fundraising
campaigns. Supporters, including parents, grandparents, school staff and
local businesses can visit www.schoolcash.com and purchase from any of over
250 well known participating online merchants including: Buy.com, Gap.com,
JC Penney, Amazon.com, OfficeMax.com, 1-800-Flowers and Cooking.com. Prior
to purchasing online, consumers must designate a school, PTA or educational
organization to support. SchoolCash pays the organization rebates of up to
20 percent of online purchases made through SchoolCash at no extra cost to
supporters.

"Fundraising needs for schools never cease and the Internet provides a new
tool for parents and school supporters to generate funds with minimal
effort," said Michael Smith, General Manager of SchoolCash. "It's a highly
effective way to supplement traditional fundraising campaigns: there's no
paperwork, no door-to-door selling, and supporters are earning money for
their school every time they shop."

In addition to providing standard rebates, SchoolCash offers Virtual School
Fairs throughout the year which offer additional rebates. Like traditional
school fairs, supporters can purchase select items such as books, cd's,
flowers, apparel, toys with an increased percentage going back to the
school, PTA or educational organization during the fair. Also, for parents
that may have a difficult time remembering to go through SchoolCash when
doing their online shopping, the SchoolCash Reminder Service offers a
solution. Once a supporter downloads the SchoolCash Reminder Service, a
pop-up window will appear every time they visit a participating SchoolCash
merchant without going to SchoolCash first.

About SchoolCash.com:
SchoolCash is an online shopping site dedicated to school fundraising.
Founded, in 1999 by former school-related marketing executives and parents
who were interested in using the Internet to provide schools, PTAs, and
other educational organizations with an easy and effective fundraising
program. SchoolCash is a for-profit company that is compensated by merchants
for assisting them in marketing their products to the school market.
SchoolCash then pays purchase rebates directly to schools, PTAs, or other
educational organizations designated by their supporters.

SchoolCash is now offered by LearningNetwork, a subsidiary of Pearson
Education, the world's largest education publisher and is the e-Commerce
sponsor of National PTA.
