I walk almost every day at Cedar Lake. I have observed very large flocks of
crows there for several years. They attack, and I have witnessed them
attacking great horned owls and a great gray a few years back. I haven't
seen one owl this winter, and I wondered if the crows drove them away. I
also saw them flying after and bothering a red tailed hawk that had some
chunk of red something hanging out of it's mouth. There are also
severalhundreds that hang by the Theo. Wirth park and golf course by Basset
Creek.

They are known to have a hierarchy and family type structure and are
reported to be among the smartest of wild birds. At sunset they have a
nesting and gathering instinct especially prevalent at this time of year.
They are also a threat to many species of birds other than themselves, from
what I have read. To respond to Sonja Dahl's question about where they hang
during the day, I would guess it's in the Cedar Lake, Theo. Wirth area.
