The City recently announced the recepients of the City Arts Grant program. A total of $30,000 was given out to twenty programs.
Some of the winners include Articulture, a Longfellow Neighborhood group that I have heard good things about $1,500. I Love a Parade, $2,000 for a visual arts program for the homeless, which really peaks my interest. And the group I work with, the North East Minneapolis Arts Association, also got $1,000 to put on a parade during Art-A-Whirl (May 17, 18, 19). All the Wards are evenly represented, except Ward 2 which had the most (4) arts groups receiving money. And Ward 3 which had none.
