Oh, my concern was not about Horn as such but rather that there was no public housing anywhere on the map. That's really a generic omission and my personal impression at the time was that the generic omission like as not came from the low community profile the highrises have had. I've been working to change that in a modest way and I'll have a posting shortly that speaks to the success we have had in persuading MPHA to let us continue with the community outreach we have been nurturing via our gardens.
The insular nature of highrise populations is a national phenomenon and not just for public housing. We at Horn may well have a farmers market this growing season that will appeal to many Somali residents on- and off-site and I expect to work with Lyndale to have a block party on National Night Out that includes a Hispanic component. Should be a fun year. It would have obscured the title of the Harriet Tubman Center. It was a part of the map that was very busy. A lot of things got left out. I did a pictorial map for the Saint Paul Bike Classic last year (www.spnec.org) and I had to leave a lot out especially big buildings and of course I heard about it. All we can say is sorry and ....next time.....
