There are probably a few Freudians who would argue that the human component
is more than present.

The building isn't my cup of tea, at least on first pass (that floating gum
eraser has me a bit baffled). I don't like the color too much, and like
Orchestra Hall, the building seems a bit utilitarian for an art house.

I do, however, take issue with a quote from Larry Millet's review:

"Like Gehrys [Weisman] museum, the $125-million theater complex - which
could open as early as 2005 - is bound to ruffle staid Midwestern
sensibilities."

What exactly are staid midwestern sensibilities? And if Minneapolis is staid,
which region of the country has unstaid sensibilities? (or is this just some
hoity toity way of stating that if someone from around here does pooh-pooh a
building's design it is because of their staiditity, and not that the design
might be for example, the Weisman plain butt ugly?).

Just curious.
