The 1:10.5 ratio probably isn't very useful since it is not a ratio that exists in the real world of the MPS classroom. The 2001-2002 Operating Budget is not on-line but can be requested from the district. It would be useful if people who requested copies also offer to cover the expense of duplication and mailing if possible. The $25 million budget cuts last year reduced district-level services by more than 22%. Some departments endured even deeper cuts. So any help the district can get in defraying expenses is greatly appreciated.
The Communications Department can explain exactly the reason for some of the website information being out-of-date. My guesses would be not having enough resources to keep the website completely updated because of the $25 million in district-level cuts in 2000-2001 and having many of the remaining resources focussed on this year's budget crisis. But I could be wrong!
