This isn't exactly right. The reason the houses would be cheaper in
Lyndale is because if they are moved there by the Lyndale Neighborhood
Development Corp., they would likely be part of the new land trust that
Cara Letofsky is working for. Because the land trust owns the land and
limits the appreciation a homeowner can receive upon sale, the houses
would be cheaper.

If the houses wind up in Kingfield, they will be moved by Project for
Pride in Living, and not part of a land trust arrangement. Because of
that, they could well be more expensive.

I'll give members a more complete update of what's happening after
tomorrow's board meeting, but from my point of view, LNDC and PPL are
both working incredibly hard to bring good, workable proposals to the
fore. I don't want our board to pick until it has to, because there are
so many details to be worked out - it would be a pleasant problem to
have two workable plans on such short notice.

Other than that, I thank Tim for his kind remarks. Presenting in front
of the planning commission was an interesting experience - members were
very sharp, I thought, and Judith Martin is one disciplinarian of a
chairperson (do NOT dally in your responses)...she (and Tim as a
reporter) keep you on your toes.
